Group Therapy

Rising Together: A Queer & Trans Process Group for Political Survival

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, heavy, heartbroken, or just trying to get through the day in the face of everything happening around us, you are not alone.

Rising Together is a virtual space for queer and trans people who want connection and support while navigating the emotional toll of the world we live in.

This is a space for shared reflection and care. Unlike individual therapy, which focuses on your personal story and goals, a process group invites us into something collective. We come together to share, listen, regulate, and witness one another in real time.

We focus on tending to grief, holding complexity, and staying connected to ourselves and each other through the pressures of systemic harm. We make space for anger and numbness, for resistance and rest.

This group is about showing up as you are. Together, we practice staying with what’s real, holding onto hope, and moving through it all without doing it alone.

  • When: Wednesdays at 7pm
  • Duration: Recurring
  • Where: Virtual (link provided upon registration)
  • Cost: Sliding scale, pay what you can: $20-$100 per session

If you're needing a space to process, connect, and reclaim your power alongside other queer and trans folks, this group is for you.

  •  If you are in crisis, please do not use this site. Call or text Blackline (prioritizing BIPOC) 800-604-5841, Trans Lifeline 877-565-8860 or click here to see more crisis services and information about police intervention.
  • Please note that some crisis line workers are mandated to report calls regarding suicide to the police. If this is a concern, we encourage you to first ask about their reporting policies before sharing.
  • If you or someone you know is in immediate, life-threatening danger and decide to call 911, please be aware that police are not equipped to offer mental health support and may even pose danger to People of Color, Neurodivergent people and Disabled people. Please ALSO reach out to community leaders, neighbors, friends, and family to be present if you are calling the police.

I reside and practice on stolen land that belongs to the Piscataway and Manahoac peoples. Learn more about this land and to learn about the land you live on. Please consider how you can support the first stewards of this land.
