You might be eligible to use out-of-network insurance benefits. You will be responsible for paying for each session in full at the time of each appointment.
To use your OON (Out of Network) benefits, you can call the Member Services number on the back of your insurance card. Your OON benefits typically reimburse a portion of your session cost, depending on what coverage you have.
I recommend calling your insurance and asking: "What is the reimbursement rate for an Out-Of-Network therapist?" and then asking "How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?"
You can call your insurance provider and they can provide a therapy referral who is in-network. For low cost and insurance-based therapy, please visit: psychologytoday or openpathcollective.
Insurance companies have the ability to access your medical records and impose diagnostic requirements, potentially limiting our work together. Financially investing in yourself increases your commitment to therapy.
There is no better investment than yourself.
You can schedule therapy on your lunch break, from home, or anytime that works for you. Clients often report they prefer therapy in the comfort and privacy of their own home.
If you live in a rural area, you can have access to working with the provider that is your best fit. Virtual therapy is helpful for those with physical limitations or disabilities.
Studies show virtual therapy is just as effective, if not more than in-person (keep those cozy sweatpants on for session, my friend).
I reside and practice on stolen land that belongs to the Piscataway and Manahoac peoples. Learn more about this land and to learn about the land you live on. Please consider how you can support the first stewards of this land.
