Books & Resources for Trauma, Identity, and Healing

Some books give us language for things we've been carrying for years. Others challenge what we were taught, help us understand our relationships, or invite us to imagine a life that fits a little better.

This is a collection of books and resources I return to when thinking about trauma, attachment, parts work, queer and trans identity, religious deconstruction, anti-racism, & complex and non-traditional relationships.

These recommendations reflect my interests, clinical perspective, and the conversations that often emerge in therapy.

You don't need to read your way into healing, and you certainly don't need to agree with every page.

Take what resonates and leave what doesn't. <3

Sapphic & Queer Identity

Lesbian Masterdoc

Not perfect by any means but if you have discovered comp het (compulsory heterosexuality) and/or questioning your relationship to the patriarchy + queerness, it's a helpful read :)

Religious Trauma & Faith Deconstruction

Looking for Support Beyond the Bookshelf?

Reading can help us understand ourselves, but sometimes we need a space to explore what comes up along the way.

I offer virtual, trauma-focused therapy for adults in Washington, DC and Virginia, including support around identity, relationships, religious trauma, and life transitions.

If you're curious about working together, you're welcome to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
